Under Graduate Application

Making an application for the Undergraduate course in the UK universities calls for the services of an organisation known as UCAS. It is a central organisation in the UK that is responsible for receiving undergraduate applications and forwarding them to the respective institutions as selected on the application form. In one academic year you can fill only one common UCAS application form and choose a maximum of 6 different universities/courses. The services offered by UCAS are designed for the admission to the September/October intake in the UK and you normally apply directly to a university for courses starting in January or February.

Applications are accepted for a particular intake starting from the October of the previous year until 30th June (for Non-EU students) of the year of admission. There is an administration fee for UCAS of £15, which you may submit as Bank/Demand Draft or do an Electronic Transfer of £15 in the name of UCAS directly. If you use the UCAS application form to apply to only one University then you are required to pay only £5 towards the application processing fee. Once UCAS receives the application form it is processed and sent to the universities selected on the form. The universities will then inform you directly of the outcome of your application.

UCAS application forms are available from your nearest Study Overseas Ltd (UK) office. Further information on UCAS is available at www.ucas.com

There are some exceptions while filling the UCAS form, i.e. if you are applying to Oxford or Cambridge, or to courses leading to a professional qualification such as Medicine, Dentistry or Art & Design. For more information please contact your nearest Study Overseas Ltd (UK) office.

Late applications (after 30th June) are routed through a different procedure called Clearing. The procedures are slightly complicated and it is best to contact your nearest Study Overseas Ltd (UK) office for information.
